Virgin Atlantic has one way flights to/from New York (JFK) and London (Heathrow) through the end of 2016 for 12,500 miles on most dates.
According to our last search, even some dates around the holidays and New Year’s Eve are still available at that rate. With a market rate of about one cent/mile, that’s a cash value of $125; add on the $134.60 booking fee for the NYC – London leg and it’s still a great deal, even compared to the cheapest cash rates (on any airline) right now. London – NYC is a heftier booking fee at 177.20 pounds (that’s $231.12), but the cash prices are higher too so it’s still a good deal. Also consider that many of the cheap cash flights aren’t direct, but all of Virgin Atlantic’s JFK – Heathrow flights are direct.
There are also crazy cheap one way flights (cash) for some dates – as low as $146 on some dates in December, both ways. We think SkyScanner has the best calendar-based search – you can quickly see the cheapest dates across entire months, and modifying your search is quick. Not to mention they always seem to have a comprehensive set of airlines and prices:
